Pivoting away from the meditative vibes of "Drifts," I imagined this album as more of a conceptual project, a score to a nonexistent Jordan Peele film adaptation of an Octavia Butler novel that also may or may not exist. The album is called Accidents but it could also be called "Accidents" (read: Accidents in Scare Quotes). The story in this music lies at an intersection of horror, sci-fi, and Afrofuturism. It's very much informed by the past, present, and a few possible futures.
